Nugget No. 2 - Blast from the past: Developer/gambler Billy Walters had a controversial item before the County Commission today, trying to change a lease so he could change the Bali Hai golf course to commercial uses. It was no contest as he brought in two of the most successful local government attorneys in Las Vegas - Jay Brown and Chris Kaempfer. Only Chris Giunchigliani said no and Rory Reid abstained.
Did I mention that county counsel Mary Miller raised serious legal questions about the deal in an extensive legal memo?
